Doctors declare Kulsoom Nawaz's condition as critical

LONDON (Dunya News) – The doctors on Monday described the condition of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif s wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz as critical.
The doctors treating the former first lady while briefing the Sharif family about her condition said that the ventilator will not be taken off.
They said that they will monitor Kulsoom Nawaz’s reports on daily basis as her condition was still serious.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz had delayed their return to Pakistan after meeting the doctors.
Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz held a meeting with the doctors of Kulsoom Nawaz for two hours and delayed their return with mutual consent.
The condition of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz being treated in Harley Street Hospital was still serious and she was still on the ventilator even after five days.
On Sunday, in her latest tweet, Maryam Nawaz had again appealed the nation to pray for her mother’s quick recovery.
The doctors had also advised the ex-PM to spend time with his wife.
Hussain Nawaz, son of ex-PM had also confirmed that the condition of his mother was very serious adding that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were not leaving for Pakistan.
Owing to the serious condition of Kulsoom Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz will not appear before the court on June 19 and would file petition seeking exemption from appearance.
The former first lady’s latest report along with doctor’s letter would also be submitted in the court.
Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who is on a private visit to London had also sent flower bouquet to ailing Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in hospital, wishing her early recovery.
The bouquet was handed over by PTI leader Mian Qaheedur Rehman and also conveyed the message of Imran Khan to the Sharif family.
Previously, the health of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz had deteriorated following a cardiac arrest at a hospital in London, where she was undergoing treatment following throat cancer surgery.
The former first woman suffered cardiac arrest and fell unconscious after suffering large pulmonary embolism.
On Wednesday, she was readmitted to the London’s Harley Street Clinic after her condition deteriorated, due to which she was taken to the emergency unit where she was being constantly monitored.
In 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with throat cancer after which she was undergoing treatment in London.
